BARKLEY

[BARKLEY ] [BARKLEY ]

This is one special boy! Barkley came to us weak and tired, drained by the heartworm disease which he had gotten since his previous owners did not give him the monthly heartworm preventative that all dogs here need. Luckily, our vets were able to treat him for this and now he is all better and ready to go. He is a very affectionate boy who loves everyone. Now that he is feeling 100%, he is enjoying displaying his limitless joie de vivre- he loves life and is full of happy exuberance. He needs some training, but has very good house manners, is crate trained, and knows basic commands. He will train easily and is eager to please and would love to have a job to do- maybe agility or freestyle would be a fun pasttime for him with a new family. He promises to be a loving and loyal companion for a special person/family.

Barkley has the Labrador temperament - smart, active, eager to please, and affectionate. But unlike a lot of young Labs, he is not destructive in the house. He is left loose in the house with 3 other male dogs when his foster mom goes to work and is as good as gold. He will fetch a ball or a kong for as long as someone can throw it, and would like his forever home to have a fenced yard he can run in. When he.s not chasing a ball, he will run laps around the yard. Inside, he will follow you around the house. Barkley really is a very nice boy!

Come meet him soon- he is waiting for you!
