[SLIM ] Slim, a 5-year old Blue Tick hound mix, arrived at the shelter painfully thin and in poor condition, but with such a sweet personality that the staff focused on making sure he got plenty to eat, and he slowly began to blossom. His foster mom has continued helping him return to a healthy weight, and seeing him become a truly beautiful dog in appearance as well as temperament, and he currently weighs 50 lbs. Slim is a sweet and calm dog, shy at first, but very friendly. He is house-trained, but remains in the crate when no one is home. He loves nothing more than a comfortable place to lie down and snuggle next to his people. Having outgrown his puppy energy, he’s happy to be petted and loved. As you would expect, he is very food motivated and quick to learn when treats are involved. [SLIM ]

Slim loves going for walks and being outdoors, but once inside he is a calm boy. He does well with other dogs, with no signs of reactivity. He can be a little wary of noise and lots of activity, so he would probably do best in a home without young children. He has not been tested with cats, but given his calm personality, he would likely do well with proper introductions. He’s a truly sweet fellow who melts your heart with one soulful look into his eyes. All he needs now is a family of his own!
