A program developed by PAW to help bring senior adopters and senior dogs together
PAW pairs dogs six years of age and older with senior adults. This goal of the program is to save the lives of older dogs while providing seniors with the companionship and unconditional love a dog can provide.
When you submit your application, you describe what you are looking for in a dog. PAW will try to find an appropriate senior dog to fit your situation. We will communicate with you during the search process to try to ensure the dog is a good fit for you.
You will sign a foster to adopt contract and take the dog home. This is a two-week period for you to get to know the dog and see if it is a good fit. PAW will provide all supplies and medical care. You may be asked to take the dog to vet appointments. If all goes well, at the end of two weeks you adopt.
If you decide this is not the dog for you, we ask that you foster the dog until we find a different placement. It is hard for senior dogs in a kennels so staying in your home while we find a new adopter is best.
